Visit 15th Jan 2023
A flying visit to Kelsey park today to see if there was much happening at the heronry. It was clod and miserable and not much activity was observed. Al of the herons were just sitting around in the trees, no sign of nest building or courtship. A couple of pairs were together with one of the birds sitting low down in the nest. Perhaps signs that the first eggs have been laid?

Here are a couple of pictures of the heronry.It is situated on an island towards one end of the lake. It is also quite close to housing and very busy footpaths through the park.
As there was not much activity I had a wander around the rest of the park and took a few more pictures before leaving.
